Dry hire vs full setup

One of the first things to consider when hiring wedding decorations is your choice of package. You have two main options here: dry hire or full setup.

When you hire just the arch without creative input from your venue stylist, it’s known as DIY or dry hire. With this option, you’re responsible for the item’s placement, styling and ultimately how it works with the overall theme of your wedding. Dry hire is generally cheaper as you pay for just the item, but the creative burden rests with you.

If you’d rather the professionals handle the styling, choose full setup. With this option, your wedding decorator collaborates with you and your venue to position your arch or backdrop, recommending complementary decor while providing general assistance throughout the day.

Payment terns

If you’re hiring an expensive wedding arch, look our for loss and damage deposits. Although refundable, loss deposits can cost up to 50% of the hire fee, which could add a few hundred pounds to your budget.

Indecisiveness is common when planning a wedding. It’s completely normal to change your mind especially if you booked an item far in advance. If you do happen to change your mind, look out for any non-refuindable deposit clauses. 

If you cancel the booking or change your mind, some vendors may charge cancellation fees of up to 50% of the product, while other companies may allow you to exchange for an item of similar value. This is something to consider, especially if you’re ordering far in advance, as couples change their mind more often than you think.

One of the big decisions you need to make is which flowers to include in your arch.
